On a whim, I checked Amazon.uk's site and they said it had been released September 10th and was available. I put in my order and I got an e-mail today saying it has been shipped!

Hopefully it's the new version and I don't have to send it back.

Stay tuned, true believers... 8-)

My copy arrived in today's mail (Amazon UK works pretty damn fast) and it is indeed the remaster with the bonus tracks. It's on some label called 7T's (get it?). There's no remastering credits, but the booklet is very cool, with a brief bio, lyrics, pictures of the band and picture sleeve 45s.

I will deliver a report on the actual sound of the CD after I...listen to it.

Ven, let's start a petition with this label to remaster the remainder of the BCR catalog.

(sound of crickets)

Vennie? Vennie??

I'm in! :yay2:

I played the heck out of It's A Game when it came out. Hope they did a good job with the (re)mastering.

Do we know any more about this 7Ts label? What else have they released?

7T's is part of the Cherry Red family of labels, specializing in music from, you guessed it, the '70s. They've just reissued four Drifters albums and they've also done The Glitter Band, a Gary Glitter offshoot. That's all I remember, but there's more. I too like BCR and would like to see the remainder of their catalog reissued.

Sound quality is good. A worthy companion to the BMG UK remasters from three years back. I'm glad they covered the bonus tracks that were on the US version of Dedication that were curiously missing from...the Dedication remaster!

Two thumbs up. (I hope Roger Ebert doesn't sue me!)

The e-mail address for the 7T's label is: infonet@cherryred.co.uk.

I sent them an e-mail suggesting they license the following Rollers titles for remastered re-release:

Strangers In The Wind
Elevator
Voxx
Ricochet
Breakout

There is a live album from the '82 or '83 reunion, but at this point, I'll settle for just having the studio albums all available on CD...hopefully.

Hopefully if Elevator gets released, they'll restore the original cover artwork with the red pill.

I have a feeling we could get Strangers In The Wind someday, but the others may be a longshot.

Linda, use your IMWomanly and librarianess powers to...make these releases happen!! Puh-leeze!! There's at least four or us here who wouldn't mind seeing this happen! :D

I have a strange connection in my mind between the Strangers In The Wind album and Apple Jacks. I must have been eating them when I first listened to the record.

Just thought you all should know.

I really am surprised that one of the Scotch indie labels hasn't licensed these and put out definitive editions. Their power pop music subculture is such that the Rollers are taken fairly seriously, and of course they're hometown heroes of a sort, too.

It was advertised on the back of cereal boxes! That's what you're remembering, I'll bet.

"K-e-double l-o-double good!

Kelloggs' best to you!"

Okay, I swiped it from The Monkees, but they were on Saturday morning TV too - after their initial network run, that is...

I think Ven, Googa, Linda and myself will pool our money and just put them out ourselves. Of course, Linda will ban me from the label before we even have our first meeting, but I'm prepared to deal with that. 8-)

Man, this is just too good! A BCR remaster each month?? I would love to get Elevator with the original cover art (the red pill) and Voxx, because the quality of the versions on the Japanese box set is just so-so. Plus, there are indexing errors on Voxx.

Cool!

Linda, let's bombard 'em with e-mails so that we can also get Ricochet, Live In Japan 1982 and Breakout '85 finally on CD!!

Once again, 7T's has done another fine job with the Strangers In The Wind remaster.

Okay Miss Linda, we need to keep the campaign going so we can get Elevator, Voxx and Ricochet out on CD finally!!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!
Chris
