Pretty cool-came out of nowhere, but most of the live albums post-1971 are coming out remastered from Universal. Very cool to me as I've never owned Love You Live or Still Life on CD (Love You Live I've never owned and Still Life only on cassette) and Flashpoint I no longer have.
Stripped was a good one-don't need it remastered or Live Licks, but what the hell? maybe I'll get those too.
Don't know where No Security is-that was a rather good one too.

Does the girl on the cover of "Live Licks" come with or without nipples? Or both?

I saw that Don. There's a ton of cool songs listed there not on the original album. It has to be a misprint though (possibly info from an import version) as that would never fit. Hope it's for real-very much doubt it. there's got to be a way to find out.
As per the nipples-I have the uncensored version with said nipplage, but the censored version did not have those babies. Don't know what the remaster will have on it.
Man, I haven't heard Still Life in about 25 years-it was the first cassette I ever bought on my own-I can't wait to hear it again although I remember the songs sounding sped up tempo-wise and rushed vocally from Mick running around so much.

The Japanese version of "Live Licks" had a bonus track--"If You Can't Rock Me". I'm not aware of any other import tracklisting variations.

"Stripped" and "Flashpoint" each had live b-sides, although some of them showed up on the "Rarities 1971-2003" disc.

Of all of the post-ABKCO live albums, I think "No Security" is my favorite, although part of the reason for that is because I played "Love You Live", "Still Life" and "Flashpoint" to death back in the day. I didn't get caught up to the Stones "Babylon" era until last year.

I no longer own any of these. I have owned Love You Live & Flashpoint in the past. Probably LYL would be my favorite. I believe this will be the 3rd USA cd release for both of those.

I remember buying Still Life at an Indie new/used store when I was in college. I pulled the LP out of the sleeve and noticed it was the extremly limited ed picture disc. I then looked at the price which was under $8. I went to pay and the manager noticed the scew up but sold it to me at the low price anyway but grumbling to himself the entire time.

I have only seen one copy of it in the past 25 years and it was priced at $50. I wounder what it goes for now? Very cool pics throughout the disc. And a very small mention of it just under the Still Life title. I have always been proud of that purchase.

I am looking forward to these.

When Live Licks was first released, the announced track list was much more extensive than what actually made it onto the album. Amazon is probably posting some outdated copy for this reissue.

A similar thing happened to me way back when the "Some Girls" album was released.I walked in to a small record store/head shop in Tarrytown NY (Volpe's Records and Tapes) one afternoon to buy a couple of LP's and noticed that they had about 5 copies of the album with the un-edited diecut sleeve.Lucille Ball had sued The Stones for using her image on the record jacket and all the originals were pulled from the shelves and were replaced with a canniblized inner sleeve with the words "Pardon Our Appearance" and "Cover Under Reconstruction" with bright colored backrounds where the pictures of Ball, Bridget Bardot, and some other female celebrities were.Being very young and of limited funds,I grabbed the 2 copies I could afford and a Double 10 inch LP copy of Joe Jackson's "Look Sharp" (a NuDisk, remember those?) and headed for the counter. When the owner realized why I was buying 2 copies of the Stones LP,he tried to say that they were priced wrong. When I told him he was full of shit,he claimed that he was supposed to send them back to the record distributor or he could get sued,I again responded "BULLSHIT!".I said "You sell Bongs and Pot Pipes for Crissake! and you're worried about getting sued by a record company?" Well, he relented and gave me the LP's for what they were marked at,$9.99, grumbling the whole time.I stil have all three of the LP's in my collection , one copy of "Some Girls" is still sealed, and that was the impetus for my life long music collecting obsession.Just as well I guess, I had to give up my comic book collecting obsession.Any body interested in a copy of Conan The Barbarian #1 with Barry Smith artwork? :sigh:

Six of the 10 tracks on the "Flashpoint" rarities disc were later issued on the Virgin "Rarities 1971-2003" album.

That MAY be why I got rid of mine, my memory isn't that good these days but I picked up a UK edition of Rarities soon after release.

Very cool and way to hit him with some "far out" logic.

I hope your Look Sharp! had the button still attached to the top corner. I have had the hardest time over the years, keeping it in there. I have only played it 1-2 times to keep it's value up. (I know I should have left it sealed-but at the time it was my only copy and loved his music-still do) and I eventually bought the 12" version and the recent remastered CD.

I also have that 1st edition Some Girls LP. Didn't it come in different background colors on those 1st pressings? Or were the different colors on the 2nd pressings? As I only have that 1st pressing copy, I can't be sure. Kind of reminds me of the multiple covers for Led Zeps, "In Through the Out Door". How much are these all worth now (Stones and Zep)? Just curious. This is what makes collecting fun.

No idea what they're worth now, but Some Girls was issued with several different color schemes on the uncensored, original cover--some had bright "stripes" and some were faded. I have one of each. I also have an MSFL half-speed LP, and an orange vinyl pressing, from the Netherlands IIRC.

Yeah I have seen the orange vinyl one for around $15 almost all the time. Nice but not as valuable a so many others of theirs. Still nice

I have them all as does anybody who wants them as far as collectors go... The orange vinyl has been worth about $15 for twenty years now. They actually sold a slew of the Lucille/Raquel covers as the change didn't happen til months after the record came out so most of them are not that valuable. Where is DOES get interesting is the variation of color schemes on the original covers. There are least four with the background colors in two different positions and two 'pale' versions of them wherein the colors are nearly pastel. The pastel covers are pretty rare.

Also, the eight-track mix of 'Some Girls' boasts alternate mixes of 'Miss You," "Beast,'" "Before They Make Me Run" and "Shattered," apparently to compensate for the running time of 8Ts. "Miss You" is actually the most radically different featuring NO saxophone, if memory serves.

What w/be nice is if the terrible editing on that album was repaired. The best of Ronnie's solo on "You Can't Always Get'" is excised and the damned sing-a-long is left and the best line in "Rocks Off" ('...the sunshine bores the daylights out of me...") is SLOPPILY cut. The mix is terrific though. Very guitar-centric. 'Live Licks" was apparently a rush job when it became apparent Virgin would have no new Stones album for fourth quarter 2004 sales. Also, besides being mostly derived from the Four Flicks DVD and the cheesy edits, it's the first Stones live album since the first Stones live album NOT to have an original packaging concept. The girl on the tongue was part of an anime shown during Honky Tonk Women on the Licks tour and it would appear the grainy cover version is merely a still from Four Flicks - rather than working with the anime itself. Not the Rolling Stones finest two hours.

I agree-very shoddy, rushed packaging. And, you're right, the edits at times are ghastly, and "Rocks Off" sounds stupid to put it bluntly. But, the mix is very good-hopefully they corrected these errors.

I just noticed its $17.98 price as compared to $13.98 for LYL. WTF?
