Product Description
The Stranglers kicked off 1983 by signing to the Epic label and issuing the Top Ten single “European Female” and the # 4 album “Feline”. At the same time keyboard player Dave Greenfield and bassist/vocalist Jean-Jacques Burnel were approached by French film director Vincent Coudanne to provide the music for his film “Ecoutez Vos Murs” (“Listen To Your Walls”).
The result, entirely written and performed by Greenfield and Burnel, is not simply an album of incidental music but an eclectic collection of songs that could not have come from anybody else but members of The Stranglers!
Despite the release of a single “Rain & Dole & Tea” with guest vocals by Maggie Reilly (who sang on Mike Oldfield’s “Moonlight Shadow”), the film and the album sank quickly from view, making this one of rarest and hardest-to-find albums in The Stranglers discography.
Mastered from the original tapes and making its debut on CD and featuring the remix of the single as a bonus track, this release is fully annotated.1 Liberation
