Alzo & Udine! Wild & beautiful! This album's almost impossible to describe accurately, like Mortimer with a brown-eyed soul latin twist, perhaps? The vocals are laid over spare arrangements that feature bass, guitar, and conga vamping away in sort of a folk/soul groove and although the overall approach is quite spare, the quality of the music is heavenly.

Their 'Something Going' is featured on The Trip by St. Etienne mix album as probably the most enigmatic selection, so someone else has also heard of this one! Rev-Ola have been looking to release this album since we met Alzo in the late 1980s, it's such an amazing record! Once you've felt the magic of this music, you will never be the same. Wonderfully re-mastered with bonus tracks in true Rev- Ola style!

1. Something Going
2. Rain (De Rain)
3. I Can't Believe It
4. Want Your Love
5. Drag Of A Bag
6. Lead You Down That Road
7. This Room
8. You've Got Me Going
9. Define
10. Speech
11. C'mon And Join Us
12. Hot Time In The City
13. All Of My Lovin'
14. Hey Hey Hey She's OK

I picked this up recently at a used store here in Madison. They had a small box full of recent Rev-Ola and RPM titles they were selling for 6.98, and after listening to a couple of them, I just decided to buy like, all of them. CDs by Richard Barnes (Take to the Mountains), John Stewart (California Bloodlines), The Sundowners (Captain Nemo), The Gordian Knot (s/t), Jackie Trent, Billie Davis... I've been floating around in obscure 60s pop heaven ever since.
