I am assuming that "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" and "Psycho Daisies" are in mono. I keep hoping that multitracks turn up for those songs, but I guess they don't exist.

This could have easily fit onto one disc.

My stereo-except-for-two-tracks cd on Edsel sounds just fine and was $7, but of course no booklet to speak of. I think this new release is just an excuse to sell a booklet!

Does anyone have the 40th anniversary edition of this seminal Yardbirds album, on the German label Repertoire? It has the mono and stereo mixes, plus both sides of the non LP single "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" b/w "Psycho Daisies." Any info on the packaging/sound quality? Thanks!

It's a new remastering. To my ears it edges out the Demon mono/stereo release from several years back, and is also a little better than the Japanese mini LP sleeve version from 2006. But it's a slight improvement, not a night and day difference. This is what one of Amazon's reveiwers said ...

FYI, the 1997 USA remaster sounds excellent & includes the 2 bonus tracks. $9.98 list, as low as $3.74 from Amazon 3rd party sellers.

Now Repertoire has made an export edition specifically for the USA and UK ~ same track selection and mixes but in somewhat different packaging. It retails for about $13 less than the original version above. Here's what the new one looks like:



Rather than being in a cardboard box with digipak sleeves for each disc, the new version has the discs in a jewel case covered by a cardboard slipcase. Also, the official title for this edition is [lilred]Over Under Sideways Down[/lilred] rather than Roger The Engineer.

I'm always a sucker for CDs that look like little records.

I might consider it for the mono. I've got a yellow cover Edsel which IIRC is stereo.
