>> When The Rumour formed in 1975, they were looked on as a type of 'Pub Rock Supergroup'. Though perhaps best remembered as the backing band for Graham Parker during his late '70s heyday, The Rumour actually released 3 albums under their own name, between 1977 &1980. They also worked extensively as a house band for Stiff Records, and backed Elvis Costello on 'Watching the Detective. The band's loose, jamming style flits comfortably between roots rock, country, pop & reggae and the album still sounds incredibly fresh today, 30 years after it was recorded. The accompanying CD booklet features the original LP artwork and includes liner notes by The Rumour's Steve Goulding, plus rare photographs from the band's own archive and full lyrics to every track. <<

Today's trivia: The Rumour named their debut album Max because Fleetwood Mac named their album Rumours (they even pluralized it, sort of).

I have the 2nd and 3rd albums on the Disky label . They sound fine so I'll probably keep them.

But I would definitely like to get Max.
This release is on the Hux label.

Anyone have any experience with them?

I only have one release on Hux, it's this Dr Strangely Strange remaster that came out a couple of months ago:

Very happy with the sound.

That's funny! Nick Lowe, who was in the band Brinsley Schwarz--which splintered into The Rumour, did the same thing when David Bowie issued his album Low. Nick responded with an EP called Bowi.
