http://www.carolinerecords.com/DIVINYLS: Desperate Formed in Australia in the early 80’s by axe-wielding, school girl-uniform-and-fishnet-wearing Chrissy Amphlett and guitarist Mark McEntee, the Divinyls are best known in the US for their top five hit "I Touch Myself". Their debut album, "Desperate" is a far cry from their pop hits –featuring storming guitars, Amphlett’s growling vocals, hook-laden songs and the twisted lyrical bent that defined them throughout their career

It's about time. I do have the original, but will check this one out too (along with The Plasmatics).

Boys In Town (aka Desperate) was always my favorite Divinyls song.

I've got my mitts on a fresh copy of "Desperate," and boy, am I happy! The disc has been remastered, and the packaging is absolutely identical to the original vinyl release. I had forgotten about the handwritten lyrics on the back cover. Did the Australian version have the written lyrics on the back as well? Given the slightly different track listing (ditto on the second album, "What a Life"), and the fact that the group came to America to record the album for Chrysalis in the first place I'd be curious to know about these differences.
It's so grand to have this wonderful album back in print.

"Boys In Town" still kicks ass-MTV used to play that quite a bit back in 1982 and the song still kills. And, once she got her teeth fixed Christina Amplett was hot (even with the fake boobs).
