That looks like a great collection.
I just saw them the other day. They spoke at a tribute to Ahmet Ertegün, which preceded the showing of Atlantic Records: The House That Ahmet Built.
Also there was Solomon Burke and Keith Emerson.

Wen I was a kid, I won a 45 of "Sophisticated Boom-Boom" at a backyard carnival. It was never a hit, but I played the hell out of it. In fact, I bought some previous Red Bird comp just for that song (lots of other good songs too, but I had to have that one).

Good enough that Dead Or Alive stole the title for their first album.

This set just arrived in the mail, and while I haven't listened to it all yet, it's physically a nice package (similar to Charly/Snapper's THE INSTANT/MINIT STORY and the INVICTUS SOUL BOX label overview sets) with a surprisingly hefty booklet containing fine track-by-track liner notes. While it's not as copiously-annotated as, say, an Ace release, I recommend this one with no reservation; the song selection makes it a must for all of us Brill Building fans! A pleasant surprise.
