Don't know how this one slipped by me. I was browsing in my local indie store yesterday and was surprised to fine the self titled David Bromberg album on Wounded Bird. I don't think it's ever been on CD before. No slam against Wouded Bird -- I commend them highly and look forward to their releases -- but the reproduced cover art and liner notes seem of higher quality than usual for them. The Sony-BMG Custom Marketing Group moniker does appear on the back. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
Nonetheless, this album is beautiful on CD and is as engaging as it was when it was brand new in '71. Highly recommended.
David Bromberg is a folk/rock legend of sorts, making countless albums over the last 3 & ½ decades. This eponymous album was his very first release and the last of his catalog to finally be issued on CD! It is a live recording with a small backup band. Wounded Bird. 2007. 1. Last Song for Shelby Jean
2. Suffer to Sing the Blues
3. Boggy Road to Milledgeville (Arkansas Traveler)
4. Dehlia
5. Pine Tree Woman
6. Lonesome Dave's Lovesick Blues #3
7. Mississippi Blues

9. Sammy's Song
