Not a fan myself, but since some of you have been asking for this for awhile I thought I'd mention that Pause 'n Play now has the Seals and Crofts back catalog listed for reissue (on Wounded Bird) for September 18, 2007. Looks like all of em, too.

Enjoy!

Rich:

The last time I checked, 'Get Closer' was not included
in that list, but all the other Warner titles not currently
in print are.

Yes, I'm a fan of S&C - they've been long overdue to get
the reissue treatment!!

Thanks,
Bill

What's the typical list on these- $13.98? Any idea if there's a good way to get a deal if you buy the whole set?

I haven't specifically seen a package deal, however, CDUniverse.com seemed to have decent prices on each title.

Myself, I intend to order directly from Wounded Bird, not only because I'll get the titles a bit earlier that way, but also because I want to reward them for getting things that I've been waiting for in print. It's just my way and not something I'd ask others to do. Their prices are typically reasonable though as well. I'm guessing that these will sell for $10.98 each at the Wounded Bird site, plus shipping of course.

I wish someone would just come out with a decent hits compilation. I don't need all their albums.

When I e-mailed Wounded Bird, they said they couldn't get that album from Rhino.

Probably because Rhino sells it as a (insert swear words here) download.

Yes...I'm pretty sure you're right here. I downloaded it myself, out of pure desperation, quite some time ago from Rhapsody. They probably have a deal in place that doesn't allow its CD release...at least for the time being.

wounded bird will charge $3.00 shipping for the first CD and $1.00 each for every one after that.

should be $11.00 total shipping for all the seals and crofts CD's.

and walter is correct in that single discs are always $10.98. two-fer's are $12.98.

I just found an interesting addition to all of this Seals & Crofts stuff. CDUniverse is taking pre-orders on "Get Closer", which is featuring the same 9/18/07 release date as the Wounded Bird titles. CDUniverse.com shows the releasing label as "Rhino Flashback", which I think was the same label that did "Diamond Girl". It's a VERY cheap pre-order at $4.79!

nice find!

now we have to get wounded bird to cut us a deal if we buy all the seals & croft CD's at once.

I know that this is probably CD collecting sacrilege, but I don't care about a deal in this case. I want Wounded Bird to know that I appreciate them getting stuff like this released and since their prices are pretty reasonable already, I'm very happy just to pay up and get this CDs. S&C have been on my reissue wish list for a long time, so I'm happy to be able to check them off. Furthermore, I've always really enjoyed the "One On One" soundtrack, something that I was afraid was going to get overlooked when any reissue series took place. It really is a very thorough reissue campaign, containing everything that I'm aware of that someone didn't already have the rights to.

Well done, Walter!

You just made my day!

I don't know if I've ever seen a lower price for an upcoming album on CD.

Pricing like $4.79 takes me back to... well, 1976 when I bought it on vinyl.

But since it's on Rhino Flashback, it will have a bare bones booklet. Guess I'll have to make my own.

Amazon now has Get Closer listed, too, but for $5.99.

Some of the release dates on these titles seem to be changing on both CDUniverse.com and Amazon.com, though the new dates are inconsistent. None of these titles have shown up on the Wounded Bird website yet.

Dates: CDUniverse - Amazon

• "Seals & Crofts" (1970 album) ------- 08/28 - 08/21

I got an e-mail from Wounded Bird this morning. Apparently, even though they're not yet up on the website, they just received the last title this morning, so they can be ordered any time. My order is in!

Since they didn't list the titles on the web yet, I ordered assuming $10.98 per title.

$10.98 * 9 = $98.82
$3.00 + $1.00 extra title = $11.00

Total $109.82

I'm sure these can be ordered other places a little cheaper elsewhere, but I wanted to support Wounded Bird and I wanted the titles NOW!

I had a couple of Seals & Crofts albums back in high school but they kind of fell off of my radar. Obviously some of you are still big fans. So what do you guys think are their best albums?

Wow...as is the case with so many things, this is very subjective. The best albums are probably "Summer Breeze", "Diamond Girl" and "I'll Play For You", but there are moments on all of their albums. They've been so underrepresented by compilations, just one "Hits" package that is very brief, that most of the stuff has been completely unavailable. Personally, I always liked the "One On One" soundtrack as well and given that Seals & Crofts themselves don't like it, I wasn't optimistic that it would ever get released.

RE: Best S&C Albums

Would like to add to Walter's last message the album 'Get Closer.'

I really don't mind them being so underrepresented by compilations,
considering that the majors like to do that sort of thing with every act
they think is worth milking their catalog for.

Actually, there was a K-Tel 'Best Of' that was released on LP a while
back, but don't remember the exact year, nor how many songs were
on it. The All-Music Guide doesn't even list it, though I do see that
album occasionally in some used stores.

Thanks,
Bill
