No, Linda, I must admit I'm a purist. I didn't buy the Yoko Ono remix album, even though I was tempted for a moment there. I understand these projects from a marketing point of view, to give these recordings a new lease of life. I just don't think they will draw the youngsters to the original recordings.

As a big Supremes fan I am sure of two things:

- I will be picking this up the minute I see it.

- I will hate it.

I am always disappointed in remixes and treatments of Supremes material, although I did like the extended version of "Love is Like an Itching in My Heart" from recent anthologies (Mary & Flo singing "What I'm Gonna Do...." at the very end is pretty funky, street and soulful). Younger remixers tend to not understand the cultural significance of the Motown tracks and how they were a product of that turbulent era. The results almost sound sound mechanical and forced with little soul left intact.
