Description
Funky Nothingness is the “lost album” sequel to the iconic Hot Rats (1969). Primarily recorded at The Record Plant studio (1970) containing mostly unreleased compositions & jams featuring Don “Sugarcane” Harris & newcomer Aynsley Dunbar. Titled by Zappa himself, this compilation contains vintage FZ mixes with modern mixes by Craig Parker Adams. This expanded 3 CD set, mastered by John Polito, features audio not found on the vinyl version & includes a 28 page booklet.

That sample song does nothing for me, but I am not much of a blues fan and the vocals grate. Played too straight for me. Since it's considered the sequel to Hot Rats, I hope there will be a little more jazz and/or rock to the rest of the tracks. Also, I prefer Zappa instrumental. Unreasonable and demanding, aren't I?
