About time for a new Foreigner compilation!

For a single disc, this is actually pretty well done, but I question Girl On The Moon (not a hit of any kind) over I Don’t Want To Live Without You, Blue Morning, Blue Day or Women or other minor hits left out over this one.

I’m guessing the new song will be a ballad, because…Foreigner.

But I am curious about it since it has Lou.

seems the idea of putting a new track or two on a greatest hits album is gaining steam again................

i get why they did it pre-streaming (force you to to buy the CD) but today with everything easily accessible through streaming, i doubt many, who have most of the foreigner tunes that they want by now will bite on the one new song idea.....but we'll see.

i know back in the day they got me to buy quite a few of those 'one or two new songs" comps.

and how about buying soundtracks or other type compilations for a song or two........i did a whole hell of a lot of those too.

Is there a 2 CD version?

I saw that, but it wasn't in Warner's solicitation and there's no sign of a 2CD version out there. As things currently stand, it's just one CD.

Girl on the Moon was the B-side of Urgent...so was the first B-side from 4. For some reason I thought Girl on the Moon had gotten released as a promo single really late in 4's life, but I can't find a listing on discogs so I'm wrong about that. Girl on the Moon was issued as a 12" single in the Netherlands with live versions of Hot Blooded and Head Games on the B-side.

Putting together a compilation of the top charting singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, not using the album versions but just using the single edits, limiting the time to 72 minutes, then adding the previously unreleased song which will probably put the disc length into the 76-77 minute region...that results in the following comp-

Reaction To Action (made the cut) and Down on Love (didn't make the cut) both peaked at #54. I put Reaction To Action on because it was the third single from Agent Provocateur, whereas Down on Love was the fourth single from that album. Only other charting singles to not make the cut are Heart Turns to Stone (#56) and Luanne (#75).

The 2008 2CD release No End In Sight actually was really well done, including almost every chart hit and radio hit (even the Edwards-era hits) and I haven’t seen a better one that that.

I’ve got the Foreigner 40 comp withe the Wal-Mart exclusive 3rd disc. Works for me, though I wouldn’t have minded if they included solo Lou and Mick songs as well.

I’m guessing it’s from the early 2000s, but I’m not sure.

It is excellent and it’s got a great vocal but Lou, lots of hooks and a mix of beefy power chords, with a bluesy/country rock riff.

So great to hear Lou’s voice again on a Foreigner song.

It should be a hit, but radio won’t touch it.

THIS is a better single-disc selection than the actual cd to be released... HANDS-DOWN!

or they put so much auto-tune on the vocals that it no longer sounds like a human singing....

It’s not auto-tuned at all.

I think Renny and JosephC are saying that without auto-tune or female mammary glands, there is no chance the song will get airplay these days.

I had already said radio wouldn’t touch it.

I guess they were accenting that thought.

Then again, I haven’t listened to the radio since the late 90s.
