it is acoustic, isn't it?
Charlie posted a sample of "Revolution Blues" from the "Citizen Kane: 1974 Live At The Bottom Line" cd, which is a very electric song from "On The Beach". It was all acoustic, so I imagine the rest of the songs are acoustic as well.

Of the three, it is the one I likely will get. The other two - well basically identical to each other - understandable since the same tour - seem to be identical to others I have (will check). I'd only get one of the71 shows if at all.

yes, i feel the same. might just get "kane"
i could be wrong on this, but i count 9 of the songs on the 'kane' CD to be "new" (for lack of a better term), and not to be found acoustically anywhere else.
i also agree with you in that the first 2 have been released already, about 10 times so far.

Thanks for the reminder! Interested in the 74 title, but at $14 and change and being sourced from a boot I may wait till release and listen on Prime to decide.

These are sourced from Neil's own tapes of the shows. In the case of the Bottom Line, they found the original cassette that captured it.

Who, me?
My copies of Royce and I'm Happy arrived yesterday. Still on the fence about Citizen Kane Jr. Nice track list on that one, but the quality is so low I don't know if I would ever play it.
The first two have almost identical material, in a slightly different running order. I have other Neil Young acoustic shows from this period, which are quite similar. You know what? I don't care. I love these songs and these performances. The chance to hear this stuff in a slightly different setting with nuanced differences in the performances is worth it to me. I'm enjoying these a lot. They make me happy. And that's what it's all about, my friends.

I listened to Kane, streamed on Amazon Prime, yesterday. I did not find it too muddy, etc., like the typical audience recording from that era. It sounded promising, assuming some of the deficiencies was quality of stream (I have a better than average speaker for the laptop, but certainly not anything close to audiophile). If the price point for the release was along line of 10-11 bucks, I would likely buy. Disappointing to hear the physical does not sound that good! Of the three, Kane was of highest interest to me, due to the repetitive nature of the other two (with each other and most of the recent archive releases which I have). I totally am in sync with your point of who cares, though (190 official (translates to some 750 discs) -and roughly similar count of unofficial - GDead releases (just received DP#42 w/ bonus the other day!) can attest to that). I have heard some really good things re the Chandler release, so in the end I'll likely get em all when they do drop in price.

To be clear, I haven't heard the CD of Kane; I'm holding off on that one because I know it's from a cassette and the sample sounds pretty rough to me. The tracklist is really intriguing, though. The sound quality on Royce and I'm Happy is quite good for a live recording from that era; not as good as Massey Hall, but then not many are.
Funny you should mention the Dead; I was just thinking that with these NY releases, I might finally be starting to understand why Deadheads collect so many live recordings. When it's material you love, the nuances and even imperfections of each version can be fascinating.
