Description
'Rhythm and Soul' was the first album by mod revivalists Makin' Time, originally released in 1985. Among their line up was vocalist Fay Hallam, who has gone on to have a solo career, Mark McGounden who went on to form The Upper Fifth and The Deep Six and, perhaps most notably, Martin Blunt who went on to play bass with The Charlatans.

The above album is being brought back into print by Acid Jazz, which is good, but it's a straight reissue of the original with no bonuses. I would instead recommend getting the older CD on Ace's subsidiary label Big Beat called Rhythm! The Complete Countdown Recordings which contains the entire Rhythm And Soul album plus a whole lot more:
