If you're not nice
Updating this thread with finalised release details.
The first post now has all the configurations up for pre-order, and the tracklist for the main 2CD set. (I've removed a couple of posts which had setlists and other info that had appeared at Youing's website a while back, for the sake of clarity about what's on the actual release.) Note that the DVD which is included with the deluxe box is supposed to be made available separately from Young's Archives site "at a later date", but Rhino is saying there will be a general release, so who knows. WAN can't go wrong by getting the 2CD version.

I think I'll pass. I'm done funding Neil's sunset years. The Archives II debacle was kind of the last straw.
i will not buy this new. used, possibly, if the price is right.
i agree with you, greg, neil has to slow down. i am still a little miffed at how he got the 'deja vu' project pushed back when he only plays on half the album and it doesn't even include ohio, find the cost of freedom, sea of madness or everybody's alone. and to top it off he only plays on half of the original album to boot.

Way Down in the Rust Bucket will be released in a number of variations. A deluxe edition box set will contain a DVD of the electrifying live concert—directed by Bernard Shakey and produced and directed for Shakey Pictures by LA Johnson—alongside four LPs and two CDs. The DVD contains one additional performance of “Cowgirl In The Sand” (13 minutes’ worth!) which does not appear on the vinyl or CD editions. Other versions include a 4LP vinyl box set and a 2CD set. Learn more at https://store.neilyoungarchives.com/
13 minutes of 'cowgirl', with the horse, and not on the CD...........WTF is going on with neil young?

Weld is one of my favorite live albums of all time by anybody so I’m definitely in. All I need is the cd edition though.
“Cowgirl in the Sand” was left off because it wasn’t fully recorded. Two power failures prevented that from happening. For the dvd they pieced it together from other non soundboard sources. For this reason, I’m okay with it being eliminated from the cd edition, especially since it would have required the addition of a 3rd cd anyway.
I'd like the DVD as well, but Amazon.ca currently has the 2 CD set for $20.07. Not sure the movie is worth $86.20 to me, especially as I would likely only play it once. And I wouldn't be surprised if I could find it to stream somewhere.

I'd like the DVD but not at those prices. I like that NY keeps releasing live material. To me he's not Zappa but he is very very very very good,..excellent.

Well, I gotta admit. Sometimes I'm wrong. As a self-proclaimed Neil Young "acoustic elitist," I have never been a fan of many of Neil's electric albums from the 1980's on, especially much of the crap he released in the 80's pre-Freedom. After Freedom, could not get into Ragged Glory, Arc/Weld, etc., and never took much time to revisit them.
Because of that, I approached Way Down In The Rust Bucket with a great deal of trepidation. Long story short, I am absolutely loving this album. I even really like this version of Surfer Joe and Moe the Sleaze, a song that I always intensely disliked. For once, Neil rewarded me for having an open mind. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. For those of you that got this album, I'd love to know what you think of it.
