Description
San Francisco alternative band Wire Train's three Columbia albums from 1983, 1985 and 1987. The band toured the US and Europe promoting these albums but then went into hibernation, emerging in 1990 with a new album on MCA. The band called it a day in the mid 1990s, but reemerged in 2009 for a one-off three gig tour. Digitally remastered and slipcased, and with new notes.

OK, someone tell why i keep thinking kevin gilbert everytime i see this wire train thread.

was he involved with this band somehow, or am i really getting that old?

Bruce Gilbert was in the U.K. band "Wire". Could that be why? You don't strike me as a Wire fan.

Wire Train's drummer Brian MacLeod was an old friend of Kevin Gilbert's and played on some of his projects. Gilbert returned the favour by appearing on Wire Train's self-titled album from 1990 (not included in this 2CD set).

by the way, i don't know how many here are familiar with kevin gilbert/toy matinee/giraffe.....if you are not, and you like rock and roll, i highly recommend seeking out anything gilbert was involved in.

really really good stuff by a truly amazing man who left us way before he should have.

he was also an original member of the tuesday night music club BTW.
