All that said, I have the 1997 Geffen reissue/remaster. I bought this on vinyl back in the day. It's a tremendous album, start to finish. When you listen to it, you'd swear it's the lost Cars album.

Yes, I bought this on vinyl when it was released, but never saw the CD until it was out of print and going for big bucks. I will be very happy to get this, particularly with those bonus tracks.

Boy, that was fast. I opted to order from his Amazon storefront. I did it an hour ago and just now got the Shipped' notification.

I'm curious as to how this will sound compared to the '97 version, which sounds good. This is one of my fave albums.

IMHO - it's an improvement wither warmer lows and crisper highs that don't sound tinny.
I don't think the original sounded bad, however.

Years ago I offered up a Gold CD in the Pay it Forward thread and said no USA shipping. It was hilarious to say the least.

I just grabbed the Beatitude Goldline disc but may grab the new one from the label, they also have the Visage reissues.

I know Scott and I used to trade music with him a good 20 years or so ago.

How he got the masters to the Ocasek, Visage and others I don't know, but he is totally dedicated to good sound and despises brickwalling, so you should have zero worries.

He paid Universal for new transfers of the original master tapes. He licenses the music directly from the major labels. An expanded edition of Berlin's "Love Life" is due as early as March.

The label owner has always put his reissues in to general release via his distributor...eventually. He offers them through his website first in order to recoup some of the costs. Eventually, they see a wide release.

Jammed to this today. The sound is stellar. Is it better than my 1997 version? Quite a bit. Either way, anything this old being newly remastered is good.
