Note that BMG's solicitation for this CD implies (but does not state outright) that all the tracks were recorded live at Donington. The Amazon page currently lists only the first track that way.

Very odd concept. Weren't 8-tracks pretty much a dead format by the time Dio was formed in 1982? And even if they were still barely hanging on then, they aren't something you normally associate with the 80s. From a marketing perspective, "8-Track Classics" sounds more like a 70's series than an 80's one. "Cassette Tape Classics" would have a more 80's vibe.

Not quite. IIRC, they really turned downhill about 83/84 and died a fairly quick death. I worked in a department store, and we were clearing them out at 10/$1 at the end. So I paid 20¢ for Neil Young's "Decade".
