Mesh And Lace Description Modern English formed in Essex, England in 1979 and went on to release two consecutive albums, "Mesh & Lace" and "After The Snow," that are considered New Wave classics and are on many Top 10 lists of two of the Best Albums of the '80s. "After The Snow" featured the New Wave anthem "I Melt With You," which is among the Top 500 songs ever played on U.S. radio. It not only dominated New Wave radio, a huge national radio format, but also dominated MTV, which was a huge video format. It seemed like you couldn't go anywhere and not hear this song. On December 6, Blixa Sounds will reissue both of these classic albums. The albums have been re-mastered and have brand new re-imagined artwork from Vaughan Oliver, the genius artist behind the original Modern English albums on 4AD. The CDs feature bonus tracks that are not available on the original LPs. Modern English are alive and well and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 BMI Awards, celebrating 3 Million plays of "I Melt With You." They just completed a US Tour and are planning to return for more shows in 2020. They are indeed one of the most enduring bands of the New Wave Era!Tracklist 1. Gathering Dust 2. 16 Days 3. These new covers may be tastefully done, but why mess with the originals? Thumbs down IMHO

I Melt With You can easily be considered the greatest New Wave song ever.
