No outtakes, no live material? Compare this to the Abbey Road set and understand that the Beatles are superior to the Stones even 50 years later, a fact which no amount of bloated packaging can obscure.

I'm lost. Are you saying that the "bloated packaging" of this set was designed to "obscure" the fact that the Beatles are superior to the Stones? Or are you saying that as the Abbey Road set contains outtakes and live material, it is not merely superior as compared to this Let It Bleed set, but creates a syllogism supporting as logical the conclusion that the Beatles are superior to the Stones? Or are you saying that the relative superiority of one band as compared to another band is so fluid that it might otherwise naturally deteriorate over time, yet the comparison of these two deluxe editions is sufficient to alter and reverse this natural degradation of musical superiority?

Simple. I pass. More $$$$ to spend on much better releases. Another real opportunity missed. See Beatles and Kinks for how these Anniversary Deluxe Editions SHOULD be done. A real disappointment.

I'm saying that the "Greatest Rock n' Roll Band in the World" just announced the "Greatest Opportunity Squander" of 2019.

Don't the Stones have a policy of not allowing any unreleased material on these ABKCO projects due to their long-standing differences with the company?

I believe so. We can blame Klein’s worming his way into ownership of the masters. They seemingly are not going to give ABKCO any Stones material they don’t already own.

There will also be a 1CD stereo edition of Let It Bleed released the same day, newly remastered as described in the solicitation:
Quote:
The Let It Bleed (50th Anniversary Edition) CD includes the remastered stereo version of the album and a 32 page booklet with an essay by journalist David Fricke and photos by the band’s tour photographer Ethan Russell. The 2019 remaster has been engineered by eleven-time Grammy-winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig.

This package is so boring. And based on my bootleg collection, there were plenty of leftover tracks. I'm afraid that we probably won't see anything worthwhile from Abkco until after Mick and Keith are gone and who knows what the market will be like then? I know Abkco gets a significant percentage of the royalties but I believe a release still requires the four original Stones' approval, or at least Mick and Keith's and they're just incredibly disinterested. I guess it distracts from their new material, which not a whole lot of fans care about.

The release dates are all over the place -- in the USA, the box set is now listed as November 15th, but the 1CD version is still on for this Friday, November 1st. We'll see what happens.
