The original release of this cd only included nine vocal tunes; singer/co-writer Paul Williams put this out without AH's input if I'm correct. This adds three instrumental tracks, Devil Take the Hindmost, Tokyo Dream, and Home. This CD is taken from the old 1984 Tokyo laserdisc (it's up on youtube as well). Great performance with the Chad Wackerman, Jimmy Johnson, Paul Williams band.

Having received my promo copy of the new OFFICIAL Allan Holdsworth album, I thought I'd drop a few thoughts (a full review will come out on Thread of Lunacy closer to the Dec 7 drop date).
First off, for all you collectors, this thing sound FANTASTIC. Being personally a part of the production process of this release, I can tell you that (as far as I know) the original files were sourced off of the unauthorized (but extremely well-done) Japanese BluRay. After that, the same team who mastered "The Man Who Changed Guitar Forever" box did a remaster of this Bluray source. In my honest opinion they did an even better job than on the box set. Bottom line, this sounds better than any version ever released in ANY FORMAT. It's like it was recorded last week. Stunning. I couldn't have done it any better myself, haha.
As you can see it comes in a tri-fold package with the 3rd panel holding the limited edition DVD. The DVD is a fairly straight transfer of the original TV broadcast. In other words, the bonus disk is not remastered to "4K standards". Still, now I can watch this on my full screen TV instead of on a computer screen. Chris Hoard contributes a meaty essay putting the concert in context. Anyways, pre-order this now, it's totally worth having and will surely be a collector's item very quickly...
And, just in case whoever reading this hasn't heard this show before, boy, you are in for a treat. This album is from the "Metal Fatigue" tour. No Synthaxe. Red Charvel. The "classic" tone in all its glory. Allan in a pretty good mood and going for it. You'll be wantin' to hear this one, Gov'ner.
