Not sure how they do the math. The Zappa In New York 76 Dec NYC released in 78 will be the 40th anniversary box set of the string of concerts will be the next box set.
Much like the Roxy box which was a straight release of all the shows as they were...no edits...no overdubs...this will be the same deal.
Looking at the details it is 5 discs not all of the shows but a whole lot of em.

Release date March 29th.

Includes a 28 plus minute Black Napkins

In 78 Tommy Mars did studio versions of the Black Page # 1 and the Black Page #2 - thinking this must be those.

Kind of clunky cardboard box (9X10) with the manhole cover tin the houses the booklet, the 5 cds and a copy of the concert ticket.

Interview with Ruth where she talks about getting the call to join the band in NYC - her reaction to the Black Page.
The SNL appearance and the SNL band asking to join for the shows.
FZ spent most of his off time writing their parts.

Ray White also talks of his audition with FZ (Bianca) was responsible - he had never heard of FZ.

Also book covers how FZ attacked the tapes with a razor blade to come up with the LP. That might be their way of saying that they can't reassemble all the shows for one big set.

This band is awesome with Ruth and the SNL players.

The MONSTER Black Napkins is stellar - the best of the set. At just over 28 minutes - it is breath taking (he I am the guy who thinks baseball games are NOT long enough).

When I was in my early-1980s rockin teenage combo, I always played "The Purple Lagoon" on my Sony walkman before going on stage. I was a total Bozzio nut at the time and his playing here put me right in the zone.
