This new landmark boxset brings together 74 tracks by legendary English group, The Yardbirds, for the first time. Featuring live performances from across Europe, rare studio cuts and 21 previously unissued BBC off air recordings. The band's career from their blues beginnings to the pioneering psychedelic hard rock which lay the foundations for Led Zeppelin is charted across 5 discs.

Amongst the numerous highlights are seminal performances by guitar legends, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, all of whom ranked in the top five of Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 greatest guitarists ever.

Each disc is packaged in a deluxe mini-gatefold digipak and accompanied by a booklet featuring extensive liner notes by renowned music journalist and critic, Chris Welch.

Along with 4 CDs, a region free DVD is included featuring 14 restored live performances taken from the sources held in the ITV, Radio Bremen, INA and BBC archives.

The set also features an exclusive 36 page book with detailed liner notes, photographs and a new essay by Mike Stax (editor of Ugly Things magazine).

Great googly moogah !! They've found more stuff over and above the Glimpses box? And Rob the Caiger is spoze to be working on more early live and studio Yardbirds stuff, since he's reportedly gotten hold of the Gomelsky tapes.

This is from an email I received. Take it with a grain of salt but, if true, this could be disappointing:

“ANOTHER YARDBIRDS BOXSET
Early next year, Repertoire Records will issue Live and Rare a new five-disc Yardbirds box set. The 4CD+DVD package includes 21 previously unreleased 'off-air' BBC recordings, live performances from across Europe and rare studio cuts. It also comes with a (region-free) DVD that includes 14 'restored' live performances from archival sources from the BBC, ITV and French and German TV. The discs are packaged in gatefold card wallets and each features sleeve notes by Chris Welch. The box also includes a 36-page mini-book with a new essay by Mike Stax. Live and Rare will be issued on 22 February 2019. Take note that 'off-air' recordings are fan recordings using a microphone to record the music from a radio. Don't expect too much.“

This actually seems more disappointing than anything else.

Most of this has appeared elsewhere and it sounds like the rest might be dodgy.
