Description
Gene Clark was an American singer-songwriter and founding member of The Byrds. He was the band's principal songwriter between 1964 and early 1966, writing most of their best-known songs from this period, including "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better", "She Don't Care About Time", and "Set You Free This Time". This album brought to you at mid-price was released in February 1967 and was Clark's first solo project after his departure from The Byrds in 1966. Although the album was a critical success and established Clark as a talented singer-songwriter, it appeared very close to the scheduled release date for The Byrds' album Younger Than Yesterday in both the US and the UK which rather limited its possibilities for commercial success. The musicians on the album include former bandmates Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke, Wrecking Crew session musicians Glen Campbell, Jerry Cole, Jim Gordon, and Leon Russell, future Byrd Clarence White; and Clark's future collaborator Doug Dillard. The folk/country vocal duo The Gosdin Brothers added backing vocals, and subsequently received co-billing.

Mono?
Stereo?
Bonus material?

Those three things will make me decide as there have been many digital reissues of this fantastic album. Grab this if you have not heard it. FWIW their version of Preflyte was excellent.

Love this album. I can't believe there's yet another version, though.

Again? What more is there that Sundazed didn't add in their reissue

There actually hasn't been a totally "comprehensive" version of this yet. No one release has collected everything; and, oddly, no one release has featured both the original mono and stereo remixes.

There are 3.5 versions of the album. The original mono mix was released on CD by Sony in the early 90s, while the original stereo mix was released on CD by Edsel and, later, by Sundazed. The "Echoes" collection on CBS was a partial remix (and used different versions of some cuts later re-used for the Sundazed disc); the Japanese CD from a few years back had the mono mix and, for the first time on CD, the new-vocals remix from the 1970s Early LA Sessions LP. Finally, the long-lost single mix of "So You Say You Lost Your Baby" showed up on one of the Jon Savage compilations, albeit from vinyl.

(I don't know whether the single mixes of Echoes, Is Yours Is Mine, and I Found You are identical to the mono LP versions. If they're not, they haven't been comped, so far as I know.)

So, just accounting for what's already out there, a truly comprehensive set would look like:

Mono, Stereo, "Early LA" Stereo re-recording, stray Echoes remixes, stray single mixes, bonus tracks from Sundazed *and* Echoes.

Great summary, I have all of those versions BUT if this is a summation of all you mentioned I will definitely order a copy.

We now have a preliminary tracklist in the first post. It's not a comprehensive edition, but contains 14 tracks total (with 3 bonus tracks added to the original 1967 release). Still awaiting details of which tracks are mono, stereo, demo, remix, etc.

Looks like an alternate Needing Someone is the only song that is not on the 17 track Sundazed. Maybe the bonus version is the Mono?
