Stage is enhanced with two more staples of the 1978 tour ("The Jean Genie" and "Suffragette City"). Great news!
Sadly, the other key MIA 1978 tour staple, "Rebel Rebel", isn't here. Maybe in 2029...
Still, between the enhanced Stage and remixed Lodger, I'm in for this one. My only copies of the 1977-1980 LPs are Rykos, unlike some of the earlier albums, so I'm not as bother by all of the duplication this time around. (Though I definitely could have done without the original, bastardized Stage).

I've managed to avoid the previous two boxes, but this is my favourite Bowie era, and there is enough new to CD material, that I think I will take the plunge. The Canadian price is pretty good, too, which helps.

My favorite period, too, but not enough stuff I don't have already to justify.
Yes, this is severely lacking like the others.
Amazing they could throw in so much needless material and leave out so much.
I know there were tons of songs from the 1977 era that still haven't seen the light of day, several radio concerts and there's another song on the Cat People soundtrack absent.
And, these boxes don't use the rare cuts from the Ryko releases for the most part.
They won't get what little money I have.

Maybe they have another overpriced "exclusive release window" because vinyl would be considered audiophile. I don't know, but the vinyl box set will definitely be available from Amazon as well. This is what it will look like:
And Geff, this is what your downloaded version will look like.

In all seriousness, with the hi-res dl's on the one hand I do miss the booklets. On the other hand with my declining eyesite, there are more & more jewelcase sized back covers & booklets I can't read even with magnifying reading glasses.
Obviously, I can still read & enjoy the box set booklets.
I can't see any reason to want the cd set unless one owns little Bowie from this period. as others have said their is very little (actually I think NOTHING) new here. My only desire (& a big one) for this is the sound quality of the hi-res; some will feel similar re: the vinyl. Unfortunately re:call is usually only available as a cd; fortunately even that has little to nothing that isn't already officially released. It would be nice to have the Heroes EP in hi-res; I don't consider that essential either, & all has been released (though I THINK the French version may have been vinyl only).
