Label folks did a bang up job with the press release issued to the metal websites. They all state:
"It will be available in multiple configurations: a 2-CD set comprised of 35 tracks, 1-CD set comprised of 17 tracks, 2-LP vinyl, and digital. Among a blockbuster tracklisting loaded with timeless smashes, all four versions feature three new songs, including the official recording of the band's recent fan favorite DEPECHE MODE cover "Personal Jesus", "Rock On (Remix)" and the original holiday song "We All Need Christmas". As a bonus for collectors, the first pressing vinyl copies of "The Story So Far" feature an exclusive seven-inch single of "Personal Jesus" and "We All Need Christmas".
Then later in the press release they have the track list which is the same as the one in Linda's post. 35 songs, but missing "We All Need Christmas." Nice job there folks.
Not that omitting "We All Need Christmas" would be a bad thing.
Horrible, just horrible. A minute in and I thought I was listening to a shitty beer commercial from the 70's. Congrats, they finally came up with something worse than "Let's Get Rocked" which I didn't think was possible.
Just want to point out that this is coming from a Def Leppard fan. When they issue this they better delete the "Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection" because 99.99% of the general public will be picking that one over this one.

I was ready to call bs on rock of ages having the much better track listing because at first glance they looked almost identical to me. But on deeper inspection, rock of ages is clearly the better comp. at the end of the day, not a whole Lotta difference but definitely enough to be the better choice in this casual fans opinion.

This isn't a knock on Def Leppard or this release but meant to be a commentary on the music industry.
2 CD version = 35 songs = $15.55
Vinyl version = 18 songs = $35.98
Music is your best entertainment value. Well it definitely is not if you are buying vinyl in 2018.
They have now added "This set includes two 180-gram heavyweight black vinyl, features a free 7” single with Personal Jesus and a brand-new song (only available physically on this format) We All Need Christmas" to the vinyl version description (see Amazon link). So the initial press release contained a complete falsehood by stating the Christmas song was on all versions.

This comp is useless to me. Their first two albums are their best IMHO. I'll stick to the comp I already have, which includes more of what I like than this one.

I'm good with the single disc collection from... I can't remember the year, but I think it came out in the 90s. It also sounds decent.
Also, "let's get rocked" is and has always been cringe worthy. It was lazy and it would have been bad in the 80s and it really stood out at the time when big hair rock was completely tired and 90s rock was exploding.
