Bannings: If you're not nice
Description This album brought to you at mid-price is a good summary of David Bromberg's career, containing the majority of his best songs including "The Holdup", "Mr. Bojangles", and "Sharon" backed by three members of The Grateful Dead, namely Jerry Garcia (electric guitar, vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums) and Keith Godchaux (piano). David Bromberg is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. An eclectic artist, Bromberg plays bluegrass, blues, folk, jazz, country and western, and rock and roll. He is known for his quirky, humorous lyrics, and for his fingerpicking style that he learned from Reverend Gary Davis. Bromberg has played with many famous musicians, including Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie Nelson, Jorma Kaukonen, Jerry Garcia, Rusty Evans (The Deep) and Bob Dylan. He co-wrote the song "The Holdup" with former Beatle George Harrison, who played on Bromberg's self-titled 1972 album. In 2008, he was nominated for a Grammy Award.Tracklist TBAAmazon USA Available for pre-order soon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JJPV995/?tag=imwan-20 Amazon UK https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JJPV995/?tag=imwan-21

This is probably a reissue of a USA CBS release with the same cover & title. Nothing wrong with it, DB is great stuff!

I also have the 1998 Columbia/Legacy CD release of this title, it's a really good collection. At times, I actually prefer Bromberg's version of "Mr. Bojangles" to the NGDB original

Bromberg's guitar solo is gorgeous. I also enjoy his story about how Jerry Jeff Walker wrote the song.

Agreed! When I was a teenage "singer-songwriter" I stole that story (though giving the credit to Bromberg & Walker, NOT to myself!
I met Bromberg twice. Nice man.
