Known as the “Godfather of Goth”, Peter Murphy was the vocalist of pioneering post-punk band Bauhaus. With the demise of the Bauhaus in 1983, vocalist Peter Murphy was involved in a project with Japan’s Mick Karn (Dali’s Car) before starting his solo career in 1985. This 5 disc box set celebrates his first solo albums, Should The World Fail To Fall Apart / Love Hysteria / Deep / Holy Smoke / Cascade. Each album features additional bonus tracks of rare versions and mixes with one previously unreleased recording titled “Critic’s Choice” which is an early, abandoned demo. The CD set is packaged in a hard cover book and is a tribute to the first decade of Peter Murphy as a solo artist. “Murphy has amassed a near-40 year career, and his recent albums are full of dark vigor, urgent energy, and mystical swoon. I'm in.

Murphy has had a very nice solo career and these are his best albums, especially Deep.

The bonus tracks make it all the better.

i've followed murphy's career rather closely, and i'm always on the lookout for some of his very elusive peripheral material.
not perfect - but count me in!

Good stuff, the UK and Canada links above are dead. Will check again in the future for something cheaper than $49.98, c'mon Import CD's.
