Bannings: If you're not nice
All three are newly remastered, and the debut album is expanded with two bonus tracks:
Description Violent Femmes have released nine studio albums and more than a dozen iconic singles, among them such classics as “American Music,” “Gone Daddy Gone,” “Nightmares, “Add It Up,” and of course, “Blister In The Sun.” Their remarkable three-decade-plus career has earned them cumulative worldwide sales in excess of 10 million, with 1983’s Violent Femmes awarded with RIAA platinum certification eight years after its initial release. The Violent Femmes’ self-titled debut album has reached legendary status that few albums ever attain. Released in 1983, Violent Femmes became one of the most distinctive records of the early alternative movement and an enduring cult classic. By combining elements of Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers with new wave and acoustic-folk and punk rock, the Femmes forged a sound all their own. CD includes two bonus tracks not included on the original LP, “Ugly (1983 Rough Trade UK Single)” and “Gimme The Car (1983 Rough Trade UK Single).” Hallowed Ground is the follow up to The Violent Femmes’ legendary self-titled 1983 debut album. Similar to the first album, all of the songs were written by lead singer, Gordon Gano, while still in high school. This second album, however, pushed the band in new directions and made sure they did not rest on their laurels – featuring singles “Country Death Song” and the Lou Reed inspired “Sweet Misery Blues,“ as well as a guest appearance from saxophonist John Zorn. Permanent Record: The Very Best of Violent Femmes provides a comprehensive overview of The Violent Femmes historic recording career – beginning with tracks from their legendary debut up until their 2000 release, Freak Magnet. The compilation includes the original studio recordings for hit singles such as “Blister In The Sun,” “American Music,” “Gone Daddy Gone,” amongst others, and is a must have for both new listeners and devoted fans alike.Violent Femmes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C5HMXDR/?tag=imwan-20 Hallowed Ground https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C5HNBNV/?tag=imwan-20 Permanent Record: The Very Best Of https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C53ZZFT/?tag=imwan-20

Really interested in the Hallowed Ground remaster, which I actually prefer over the debut. Just wish it had bonus tracks.

Bump to add a third CD to the first post -- Concord will also be putting out a new remaster of Permanent Record: The Very Best Of Violent Femmes .

Pretty sure Hallowed Ground is a straight repackage from original CD release, down to the "notes". No evidence of a remaster here.
