Is there such a thing as an 'album version' of "I Want Candy"?

I wasted no time ordering this one.

I Want Candy was originally a single. The I Want Candy album that was released in the US was a compilation of singles so included the single version.

The only thing it appears to be missing on first glance is the Japan Teenage Queen Vinyl EP. You can get that + much of this (though the entire 2010 set has mediocre sound) here:

Oops, my bad the EP is on here. I would like to hear about the sound quality as the set I mention above has awful sound.

We now have the full packshot in the first post, and (for Jimbo) Cherry Red has indeed updated the title of this collection to read "1980-1984".

This was really tempting. Unfortunately, I just looked, & the 2 cd set I mention above was also Cherry Red, & the sound was absolutely dreadful (not just loud, but bad). And these albums were well recorded, I had at least 2 of them on Japanese vinyl at one time.

I'll be very interested in sound quality reports; this looks awfully close to complete. I mostly have the so so sounding One Way cd's (+ 2 RCA's 1 EMI & the 2 disc Cherry Red) from the original band.

If there are any Bow Wow Wow fans other than me here, I strongly advise reading Scott Davies' very thorough review on Amazon.UK. Sounds like Cherry Red really botched this one badly. I wasn't real thrilled with the quality of their 2 disc best of, but apparently this one is even worse.

I'm not sure if Jimbo ever did end up getting this though it seemed he really wanted one. I did see Annabelle play some of these songs at Westbury in June.

How's she looking & sounding? I saw her live with 1 original member in the 90's as Bow Wow Wow. They were ok; nowhere near as good as the original band.

I'll never forget the time I saw the original band live. All 3 were absolutely amazing musicians. This was during my pro playing days, & I remember staring at the guitarist all night not having a clue as to what & how he was playing; & of the 3 he was the worst musician. All 3 were incredibly talented & innovative, especially the bass payer who could have easily played in just about any prog bad talent wise.

(It was also the first time I was ever exposed to rap; the opening act were local rappers; at the time I had never even heard of rap & if you think I hate rap now...........!)

I'm playing this on my pc. Can't comment definitively on sound, but I believe the first track (See Jungle) is an alternate version, though that is not specified. It certainly is different than my memory (I do have the One Way cd & the Cherry Red 2 CD Set)

I'm just on song 2, but the sound of tracks #1 & #2 is quite different on the pc. See Jungle sounded pretty good, Chihuahua is really bright.

Change to the previous statement: There are some cool rarities on here; I think this may be the complete output from the original band. But even on my pc the sound of at least 75% is unacceptable. That was also the case with the Cherry Red BWW 2 CD Set. What a shame. To even have this material with a good cd mastering would be beyond awesome.
