I followed The Remains closely, both before their initial breakup and after they reformed, and IMO the career interruption did not diminish their power one iota. The 1969 performance is, if anything, better than anything I was privileged to see in 1966 or earlier. As a matter of fact, they still blew me away when I saw them in Arlington, Mass. just a few years back. Outside of the Rolling Stones, I cannot think of any band that seems less affected by time than these four (now, sadly, three).
