The above will be a 8CD box set comprising the 2015-16 remasters of Phil Collins' solo catalogue, but only the original album configurations with none of the bonus tracks.

i guess i am trying to figure out who this is marketed towards. i doubt there is a big demand for phill collins product (of course i could be totally off base on this, though) out there, i don't know how well the individual remasters sold, so i am kind of guessing all of this.

looking at amazon, i see the remasters with the bonus tracks are all around $12 - $15, so you are correct linda, if you don;t care about the bonus material, this is a hell of a buy. at $3 - $4 a CD.

It's probably geared towards someone like me. I liked the first three solo albums but didn't care for much after that. This would be a real inexpensive way for me to revisit the last five albums to see if I would enjoy them more now.

I see they are using the new covers instead of the originals. While I think that was a cool concept for the 2-disc reissues with the bonus tracks, I'm not sure I would buy a bare bones set of the original albums without the original artwork.

That price is definitely a steal though.

Very strange! A second, separate listing for the Phil Collins 8CD box set has appeared at Amazon with a different packshot (shown below), measurably cheaper, and it's showing as in stock already (as opposed to next week's official release date for the listing in the first post).

Amazon UK has this alternate box in their own inventory, while Amazon USA and Amazon Canada show it through third party sellers only. But on all three sites, this box costs less than the listing in the first post (Amazon USA is less than half the price!), so if you were planning to ever get this box set, grab it right now in case this odd listing disappears:
