Description
UFO are an English rock band that was formed in London in 1969. They became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the new wave of British heavy metal. Over a career spanning 48 years, UFO have released 22 studio albums, 14 live recordings and 16 compilation albums. They achieved major success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with several albums and singles in the UK and US Top 40 charts, and have sold over ten million records worldwide.

The first round of Chrysalis reissues in the UK this year came in jewel cases, so I'd assume the same for these forthcoming UFO title, but we'll see.

A selection of six additional UFO budget reissues have been added to the schedule for September 22nd, two weeks after the first five. I've added pre-order links to the first post. (Note that the albums are all listed in order of when these new CD reissues are coming out, not in the order that they were originally released in the '70s and '80s.)

What's the prevailing opinion on the sound quality of these discs?

Fantastic.

I listen to them all the time, and played all of them again this summer.

Peter Mew did a wonderful job and they are not too loud in any way.

Loads of bonus cuts and detailed liner notes, photos and interviews.

Looks like Headstone is missing from this batch of reissues.

Agreed 100%. These sound fantastic ! The bonus track and booklets are great.

That would explain why the Complete Studio Albums Collection boxed set went OOP. I recently snagged one in like new condition on eBay for $30.00. It has sold for as much as $152.95!

Bump: The second round of budget reissues has been pushed back to October 6th, and as you can see in the first post, most of them have been further reduced to under $7.
