A soundboard recording from this show has been circulating for years... looks like the setlist is complete, including the T. Rex and Beatles covers. Impressive!

Never enjoyed The Replacements as much as someone of my age and tastes is damn well supposed to, but I am VERY HAPPY about this release.
For under $20 you get a vintage concert on 2 discs. In 2017!?!? Where is the new remix of Tim with the attendant wave of press releases about the previous mix always sucking? Where is the same thing on ballyhooed vinyl? Where is the hardcover book of photos and text both printed really big? What about marbles or a scarf or a pin or some shrunken reproductions of period-specific promo paper pieces? Where is the bulky, intricately special-featured, dented-and-coming-unglued box to hold it all? And of course the extra $200 on the cost?
In the wake of the SgtPepper Redux and The Leave Home box, I have had enough of the "Super Deluxe" era*. It's all become bells, whistles, and heaps of Historical Revisioning, in the mad pursuit of income on the eve of MusicRetailArmageddon.
The Ramones are fucking dead, so now is the time for their associates and management to say Leave Home was always flawed and try to sell everyone the record over again at premium pricing! Everyone who heard that album in their teens and thought "That is so flawed, man" raise your hands. No hands up at all anywhere, ever, for that one.
Here come The 'Mats giving out an archival release that packs in the Great Rock And Roll without the Swindle!
(* "Had enough" in this case does not mean any really change in consumption. I don't buy many big boxes, but I will never be able to resist certain temptations...)

This has been available since last weekend at the new Mainline Records store in NYC, both on vinyl and CD. I got the CD - sounds great, but you already know that from the samples above.
