Got a bulk email from Fogelberg's site. The project is moving ahead; they're trying to figure out how many to press, & while there will be a download, they did not state what format & bit/sampling rate; they have not responded to 2 separate emails about that issue, which is normally not like them. There's also still no price.

This would seem to indicate availability will be strictly MP3 through Amazon & I-tunes & cd possibly only through Amazon. Was hoping for flac or hi-res, but I will buy the cd if that is the only option. (In my world mp3 is not an option unless it's exclusive or free).

I've moved this thread back to Vaults since Fogelberg's site is telling collectors to buy the CD at Amazon. The label is currently showing as "CD Baby", however, that it's self-released, which always leaves me concerned that it might turn out to be a CD-R. Order with that in mind. (CD Baby shows this in physical and MP3 editions -- I assume that Amazon will end up being the cheaper option for both.)

No answer yet as to whether they're burned or pressed. They sent out an Amazon link today; I suspect this may be an Amazon exclusive; don't know why else his widow would be pushing Amazon. Odd if CD Baby is listed as the manufacturer, but not selling it??!

I BELIEVE they were originally quoting $15.99 + s/h & tax; it's dropped to $13.99 so I MAY preorder. It would be nice to know if it's factory pressed first; but the Fogelberg folks seem to have stopped responding to emails.

Breaking news-- here's an update on CD availability, a packaging issue and liner notes content from Jean Fogelberg that was posted very recently on the Fogelberg site. The site has photos of the "dents" that are visible in the packaging cover if you'd like to see them. (The dents look fairly minor to me but I don't blame her for wanting to get this fixed.)

UPDATE - May 6th

Okay, I have yet another update for you. First of all, let me assure you that your pre-ordered CDs will still ship from Amazon on the 12th.

That said, on Thursday I got the package and, once again, they’d printed the wrong file. And, the machine that presses the glued edges left two dents in the cover. Apparently, the dents are not uncommon with some package types and companies, but we didn’t come this far and spend this much time and money to not strive for perfection. I’m confident that Dan would agree.

The images are clean and sharp, but they didn’t print the newest file we sent, which has John Logan and Dennis Fite thanked. This album wouldn’t exist if John Logan hadn’t thought to record the concert through his sound board for Dan, so I feel strongly that he should be acknowledged.

It’s up to you. You can cancel your Amazon pre-order and wait 3 - 4 more weeks for the new package, or you can get the not-perfect package which will ship on the 12th. The CD’s INSIDE WILL BE THE SAME with both packages, so the music is totally unaffected by your choice.

They probably decided to wait for the re-press. Apparantly (based on an email) cd baby is shipping the version that Fogelberg's widow didn't like. At least I appreciate the estate's qc. I just they would respond to emails like they used to.

I just can't get over a #1 album at a major retailer for Dan Folgelberg in 2017. That is too cool!

i kind of wanted the dimpled cover...from the collector's point of view.
