Description
Yep Roc Records will reissue six classic yet long unavailable Nick Lowe albums, fulfilling a longstanding goal of bringing the entire catalog of one of its flagship artists back into print and available on one label. The albums – Nick the Knife, The Abominable Showman, Nick Lowe and His Cowboy Outfit, The Rose of England, Pinker and Prouder Than Previous, and Party of One – span the years 1982 thru 1990, and represent a crucial bridge from Lowe’s trailblazing 1970s work to the “remarkable second wind” (New York Times) and widespread critical acclaim that have characterized his more recent releases.

Highlights and special guests abound on these six albums, with many enduring mainstays of Lowe’s live show such as “Raging Eyes,” “Half a Boy and Half a Man,” “All Men are Liars” and “What’s Shakin on the Hill” originating in this period. Every member of Lowe’s former band Rockpile (Billy Bremner, Dave Edmunds and Terry Williams) and his future group Little Village (Ry Cooder, John Hiatt and Jim Keltner) collaborated with Lowe during this period, as did Elvis Costello, Huey Lewis, Paul Carrack, Carlene Carter and many others. With demos, outtakes, live recordings and alternate art added to these reissues, the label shines a fascinating light on a chapter of Lowe’s career that is ripe for rediscovery.

Strange that the lunchbox doesn't include "Jesus of Cool" and "Labour of Lust".

Probably because the first two have been reissued already and these have not.

I know they've been reissued. I have them. But I think it would be nice to have all the reissues in the box, and it's been long enough since the first two came out that they could probably sell these to people who don't have them. Or maybe I'm wrong and these things are just selling to the same people over and over. In which case, to quote Emily Litella , "Never mind!".

If there are room for two more in there, I'll be happy not to have to repurchase those. Really looking forward to these remasters.

I am as well. I haven't seen any mention of who they have remastering these, but I hope it's Vic Anesini again. He did a great job on the first two.

Interesting that they would release videos from albums that aren't in series, with recordings that I don't even think you can find on CD, to promote the new releases.
Not really a complaint since I've never seen these videos before.

It is a bit convoluted, but I believe that Yep Roc considers their 2008 expanded edition of Jesus Of Cool (the album for which those videos were originally made) to be the beginning of the remaster series. The CD is still available:

The lunchbox link doesn't work and I couldn't find it on Yep Roc's site.

Cool!

Yep Roc sent out an email today and now the link above is working. I spoke too soon. Oh, well. The lunch box CD set is $79.99 and LPs are $99.99.
