The question is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, does she keep her clothes on in the videos (while in the 80's I did find her 1st couple albums a "guilty pleasure", she was best known for being a "Page 1" girl in the UK.

Actually it's "Page 3" girl. Reminded me instantly of this:

I had a suspicion the "1" was wrong. When I was in b&m retailing in the 80's, she was the only "artist" we sold nude photo books of!

The Hawkwind/Sam Fox collaboration is a cover of the Stones' "Gimme Shelter" and was one of a number of charity singles to raise money for the homeless. Hard to fault them for good intentions.

Honestly I would never have imagined she did anything worth collecting. Other than "Tonight's the night" and "Naughty Girls" I don't think I've ever heard anything she did. Those songs were, to my crowd at least, just slutty make-out songs. But I'm old, perhaps she's become more recognized as an icon of the decade over the years.

I worked at a record shop around 87 and I can vividly remember selling color pic 12" vinyls of one of Samantha Foxes 'forgettable' tunes, the vinyl had a pic of her topless. Many a young bloke brought these, especially to hear the elaborate chord changes.
Note to op: Sorry Linda......I need some distraction to the flowing tears for Gregg Allman.

I'm also amazed that they had enough material for this release. I knew of three songs, maximum, and assumed she'd been forgotten along with Sabrina, Vanity 6, Apollonia, and a small army of other half-naked 80's singers who seemed to populate the top 40 in the late 80's.
I thought she'd be working in a fish & chip shop in Leeds by now or something. Shows what I know, I guess.

Two of your examples were Prince proteges who would never have had a career in any decade if he didn't write their songs and promote them. But your point is still valid.

Again, she was pretty famous in the UK before recording or performing anything. Musically she basically was a puppet with very good producers & excellent promotion.

Heh-heh, 'long-awaited'. By Ms Fox's accountant, they mean.
Kid Bailey wrote:
Good Lord, I remember the very ill-considered tv broadcast of a commercial for that er, 'classic' during the break in a genuinely harrowing soap opera episode about a rape, and the contrived 'media storm' that followed. The gutter-trawling Murdoch-owned tabloid newspaper that she regularly appeared topless in was never so conflicted in it's reporting. "Our Sam Sparks Outrage But We Still Love Her Don't We Lads But It Crossed A Line Didn't It But What About Them Argies We Showed 'Em Eh". To be fair the broadcast was nothing to do with her, but then she did record the damn thing in the first place.
Lemmy of course had a long history of involvement with Page 3 girls, he was merely undertaking research for his memoirs.
