Description
As the leader of The Lovin' Spoonful, John Sebastian was responsible for a string of hits including, “Do You Believe in Magic,” and "Summer in the City." This new ‘best of’ his solo years includes the #1 hit "Welcome Back,” as well as new versions of the Spoonful classics “You're A Big Boy Now,” and “Didn't Wanna Have To Do It,” and live versions of “Nashville Cats,” "Darling Be Home Soon,” and others. The album also features “Stories We Could Tell” and "She’s A Lady,” his first solo hit.

Rhino did a fairly definitive Sebastian best-of a couple of decades ago. I doubt that this is intended to be a more eclectic comp including live material and post-70's material such as the J-band and "Tar Beach", but then again Varese isn't averse to issuing eclectic titles.

Steve Boone told me that he had about fifteen minutes of video from the show he played with John Sebastian at a small, outdoor show in Clermont, Florida back in December of 2013, and that he wanted to get it up on Youtube.

(I just like being able to write a sentence which begins with "Steve Boone told me...")

The Kama Sutra 45 version of "She's A Lady" is a different recording than what was on his first solo album. I'll be curious to see which version they actually use.
