Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce a series of remastered and expanded reissues of the CLIMAX BLUES BAND catalogue, including this newly expanded edition of “GOLD PLATED”. Formed in Stafford in 1968 by Colin Cooper, the band (originally known as the CLIMAX CHICAGO BLUES BAND) released their seventh studio album in 1975, (their first for BTM Records), with a line up of COLIN COOPER (Vocals, Saxophones, Harmonica), PETE HAYCOCK (Guitar, Vocals), RICHARD JONES (Keyboards, Guitar, Bass), DEREK HOLT (Bass, Guitar, Vocals) and JOHN CUFFLEY (Drums).

“GOLD PLATED” would be one of the band’s most acclaimed albums, with the track ‘Couldn’t Get It Right’ becoming a hit single. This Esoteric Recordings release has been newly remastered and features eight bonus tracks, all previously unreleased on CD, including a rare BBC Radio One session from September 1976 and a selection of studio out-takes and singles. The reissue includes a lavishly illustrated booklet that fully restores the original album artwork and a new essay.
