>> Two ‘80s albums from Iain that were originally released on small independent labels and never enjoyed the exposure and sales they deserved. Digitally re-mastered and slipcased. Extensive new notes by John Tobler. <<

This will be the second remaster of Pure & crooked. There are 2 US editions. In my opnion, P&C is his best 90's release. Unfortunately, if Amazon's track listing is correct, this is missing the 5 bonus tracks from the US P&C remaster. Skeleton keys is also quite good.

If you don't already own these, & can't find the expanded Pure & Crooked (both us versions are out of print & Sketeton keys is also oop in the US), I would highly reccomend this pairing.

This reminds me, I need to pick up Matthews/Surkamp the Hi-Fi complete works cd/dvd set. It's another I've been waiting to find a reasonable price on, but i din't want to wait until it goes out of print......... I do have the vinyl but.... & that one comes with the PBS video too.

"pure and crooked" has a great cover of peter gabriel's "mercy street", and "living in reverse" on "skeleton keys" would/should have been a hit in a perfect world :)

worth getting if you like matthews and don't have them.

Here's the American remaster of Pure & Crooked that Geff was referring to. Different cover art and 5 bonus tracks:

Audio samples of all the tracks (including the bonuses) are available at Amazon:

This disc is out of print but there are several inexpensive copies available from Amazon's third party dealers.
