Description
Acid Jazz Rare Mod series is now 10 years old. In that time it has discovered hosts of rare and previously unreleased master pieces from the 1960s. This collection presents the very best of these in a 3 CD boxset. Artists include David Bowie with the Riot Squad, Sharon Tandy, The Fleur De Lys, The Artwoods, Jimmy James & The Vagabonds, Geno Washington & The Muleskinners who features Ian McLagan. The release has been compiled by Rare Mod supremo Richard Searle of Corduroy & Doctor And The Medics whose own unique take on Psych and Soul defines the set list. It comes packaged in distinctive Rare Mod style with a 24 page booklet complete with in-depth sleeve notes explaining the genesis of the series and the tracks themselves.

One would assume this collects the best tracks from the 6 volume Rare Mod series on Acid Jazz Records, but by my count, only 26 of these 60 cuts appeared on that series. Which means 34 did not.

Just doing a quick scan, it looks like some of these 34 titles appeared on Acid Jazz comps other than the Rare Mod series, but I'm too lazy now to do an exhaustive comparison...

The breakdown I got:
6 cuts from Vol 1
1 from Vol 2
2 from Vol 3
10 from Vol 4
4 from Vol 5
3 from Vol 6
