I've been waiting for a nice, remastered, career-encompassing comp of this man's excellent music.

I hope this is it.

I prefer the Americanized (sped up) version of the City to City hits (Baker Street, Right Down the Line, etc.). When I heard the UK remaster of that album at the normal speed it just didn't work for me. Sorta like The Doors first album when they put out the proper version for the 40th anniversary mixes. Hearing the songs slowed down after hearing them another way your whole life is a huge obstacle to overcome.

This line-up is about as good as they could do with a single CD. All the chart hits, single versions. On my list.

this would be an amazing compilation if it weren't for all the single-edits.

Actually, the single edits may be the reason I get this. I don't have any Gerry Rafferty, but always dislike when I hear the album versions of the sped-up singles.

i'm confused... do you simply prefer the single edits? (which is fine, if that's your preference.)
or do you prefer the non-album sped-up single edits?

i prefer the songs as they were originally recorded - just the album versions (non-sped-up, of course).

Assuming the single edits are sped up versions of the original song, I'm in for single edits in this case.

Yeah, the title is a bit of a groaner, but I do give them some credit for incorporating the UA label art into the cover art. That at least adds another layer to the corny pun.
