Here are the rare cuts that were on Disc 4 of the Thrill Of It All. A quick look tells me virtually everything is on the new set except the b-side version of "India" unless I missed something. I see the value on that box plummeting quickly. This new set will be a must-have but I don't see a US release and it will be pricy as Roxy always are for most things. Anyway, hope this clears things up!

I own a four track Extended Play "The High Road" (Polydor 2335 269) having the following tracks:

A1. Can't Let Go 5:30
(Bryan Ferry)
A2. My Only Love 7:40
(Bryan Ferry)
B1. Like A Hurricane 7:40
(Neil Young)
B2. Jealous Guy 6:34
(John Lennon)

Total time: 27:25

Can't Let Go and Neil Young's cover of Like A Hurricane appears not to be on this box set. However these are live recordings. I'm not sure if there are studio versions of these songs.

The songs on The High Road EP are the same versions that are on the "Heart Still Beating" live cd . There is a slight difference in running times but I'm sure that is due to it the crowds applause in between songs . The "Heart Still Beating" cd is still readily available .

According to Amazon reviewers, High Road are different performances then heard, though same tour. I have not had the time to compare the 2 second by second to find out for certain. One guy on Amazon was quite sure of it, though.

There is a studio version of Can't Let Go, on Ferry's Bride Stripped bare. I Don't THINK there is a studio of Hurricane..

This box is called "The Complete Studio Recordings 1972-1982", so no live tracks other than the one b-side. Don't know about the studio versions of the songs you mentioned, but I don't think so.
I'm sure the live releases will get the treatment as well since they stated more material was coming.

Did this come out this week? I've heard this was a US only release.

The Amazon US release date is April 10 (next Tuesday), but there's still no artwork, product description, editorial reviews, sound clips, etc. Amazon UK doesn't even have a listing for this, but I find it hard to believe this would be a US-only release, since I believe they're bigger over there. I hope this does get released, but I doubt it'll be available next week at this point. Also hoping the price comes down a bit from the current $93.83.

Amazon USA:

Amazon UK (not live yet):

Regardless of the release dates that Amazon is currently showing, EMI UK says that the box has actually been pushed back until at least June.

Due to the supposed hi-res dvd's, I want this. Don't know if my wallet agrees, though.

The price isn't as bad compared to those pink Floyd immersion sets that really only contained a single album with a handful of extras. I am in.

Amazon now has this listed with a release date of August 7. Hopefully that is the final change. I'm really looking forward to this.

I have no clue how I'm going to pay for this, but I THINK I really want it. My one concern is the Avalon SACD doesn't sound all that good due to compression.

The hell with it. I was primed for this last winter but after it didn't come out I gathered super-clean used, vinyl copies of the later stuff and Capitol reissue 180G vinyl of the early titles. Besides, the covers need to be enjoyed full size. I already have the 4CD best of box from awhile back so I have virtually all of the extras too so I'm good. Bwahahaha! They'da had me if they'd stuck to their original release date.

No Idea how accurate they are, but DD is showing release date as August 7th.

You'll need to get some inners from the likes of Soundsource, Geoff but anyways I'm getting it as it's just the sort of presentation I love. GBP £54 isn't much for something like this imho.

I already have them!! :) But about 1/3 of discs in cardboard seem to get scratched on insertion &/or first removal.

Yes...thread on the Hoffman board....the evidence, sadly, is pretty convincing
