Description
Brand new studio album Night Thoughts from The London Suede, accompanied by a feature film directed by acclaimed photographer Roger Sargent on DVD. Night Thoughts, which features a full string section, was produced by long-time Suede collaborator Ed Buller. It was recorded at SARM studios in London and ICP in Brussels. On directing the film for Suede, Roger Sargent said: "The record deals with a lot of familial themes life, death, love, anguish and despair; themes that are expanded upon in its visual companion, providing a study of how those elements affect the human psyche. It resonated with me for many reasons, not least because my mother passed away a few days after I started writing a story for the film. The film starts with a man drowning in the waters of a deserted beach at night, as he fights for life his mind plays out the events that led him to be there."

Bernard Butler is not part of the current lineup, right? I've enjoyed some of their post-Butler music but I prefer the early stuff when he was in the band, as well as his solo work.

I think it sucks they still have to call themselves "The London Suede" in the US.

Butler hasn't been there in 21 years Rich.

He was an awesome guitarist but Richard Oakes is quite the player as well and has been there since Butler departed in 1994.

I also prefer the early stuff and his solo work, but Suede still are a very good band.

I know Butler's history with the band but was hoping that he & Anderson would work together again after they formed The (short-lived) Tears. I agree that they're a very good band even without him but those first two albums (and the related single/b-sides) are pretty special.
