Description
Having toured Britain with full, competition-standard brass orchestras, including a sell-out night in the main hall at London's Barbican Centre, British Sea Power - described by The Sunday Times as "the best band in Britain" - now present 'Sea Of Brass', a new studio album born out of these live brass-backed shows. Including re-workings of much loved tracks from previous albums including 'Machineries Of Joy', 'Valhalla Dancehall' and 'Do You Like Rock Music?', the studio versions of the brass arrangements were recorded with the Foden's Band, a renowned Cheshire-based brass ensemble, formed in 1900. Foden's Band have won numerous international prizes and in 2012 won a rare brass-band double, being crowned both British Open champions and National Champions of Great Britain. The LP release comes on double heavyweight vinyl and includes six extra tracks.

Tracklist
1. Heavenly Waters
2. Once More Now
3. Alberts Eyes
4. Atom
5. A Light Above Descending
6. Machineries Of Joy
7. When A Warm Wind Blows Through The Grass

Vinyl Bonus Tracks:
9. Waving Flags

British Sea Power is one of my favorite bands and one that is truly underrated & under-appreciated. I'm waiting for this new album to arrive but have enjoyed everything I've heard from it thus far.

I'm with you on this Lawrence. Unique band and they offer a new sound on every album.
Pretty much have everything they ever did.
I recently found out they have a Special Anniversary re-mastered edition of their first album with bonus cd.

Excellent! :yay:

Most artists that do re-workings I would say "meh" and pass. However, BSP do such a great job with everything they release and this release is no exception. Even though I'd prefer to hear brand new material, they do breathe new life into older songs and make the album essential for BSP fans.

Now if they'd only show up in concert in my neck of the woods...
