Description
2015 release from the award-winning singer/songwriter. Recorded at Sheik's very own Sneaky Studios in Garrison, New York, this album marks his first production of original material, not attached to a theater production, since 2006's White Limousine. NPR Music said, "The Songs from the new album, Legerdemain, feel full-circle; intimate and contemplative. Telling complicated little stories via spare lyrics and subtle studio wizardry, these songs beautifully balance Sheik's pop know-how and his theatrical impulses."

In anticipation of the album's release on Friday, the pre-order price has been reduced to $9.99:

And here's another track to sample:

Duncan Sheik has been one of the biggest disappointments of my music collecting life.

Barely Breathing was such an amazing song, that I still think is one of the best pop tunes of the last 20 years. Most other songs on the album were quiet affairs, and only "She Runs Away" really got him in a full-throated belt.

I got the next three albums hoping for another song with some muscle behind it. Barring that, at least some emotion. But no, every song is just him and his guitar or his drum machine and keyboard, sitting in the dark, barely singing more than talking. Some songs sound like they're about to turn the corner to a bigger chorus or bridge, but...no. More quiet in the dark.

The above clips don't seem to indicate any change in that regard.

I'm done thinking it over, anyway.
