Tracey Thorn returns with a new 17-minute soundtrack EP of songs and music written for - and centrally featured - in 'The Falling', the new acclaimed film from British director, Carol Morley ('Dreams of a Life', 'The Alcohol Years').

The film, set in girls' school in the late sixties, garnered rave 5-star reviews in the Guardian and the Times when it premiered at the London Film Festival in September 2014. Part folk, part minimal garage band, the music's gauzy simplicity harks back to Tracey's cult debut album 'A Distant Shore' (1982).

in my opinion, certainly not nearly as good as her composition work with EBTG,
but better than her last full length (these short pieces are at least somewhat melodic),
and probably on-par with her pre-EBTG material.

damn, what i would give for a new EBTG outing!
