This is the newest album by Arjen Lucassen, the mastermind behind the Ayreon, Star One and Guilt Machine albums. On this one he teams up with Anneke Van Giersbergen (most famous for her work with The Gathering) who has one of the most beautiful voices and has worked with Arjen before on the Ayreon albums "Inside the Electric Castle" and "01011001." Arjen never disappoints and I'm really looking forward to hearing this one.
Each CD of the two disc special edition has the same songs but on one disc the songs are presented in a more quiet, acoustic manner and the other disc contains "rock" versions. The additional two discs in the four disc version are just instrumental versions of all the songs.
I'm also going to link Arjen's webstore page which offers exclusive artbook editions, and Arjen and Anneke will autograph copies if you so desire. A word of warning however, shipping charges to North America are pretty significant. I have personally ordered from Arjen's website on two occasions previously and have not had an issue with packaging/delivery time...but expect to pay top dollar for shipping. Note that along the top of the page are webstore links to some of Arjen's other projects in case you might be interested (the Ayreon stuff is awesome!!!).
