Yes, and it was brilliant! While there were a few songs I could do without (I don't need the highland fife songs), it was essentially a terrific blues record. I had given up on MK, but Privateering won me back over.

Mark Knopfler‘s new album Tracker was announced the other day and as well as a deluxe CD being available, a five-disc super deluxe box is also being released.
The follow-up to 2012′s rather good Privateering is produced by Knopfler and Guy Fletcher. The deluxe CD adds four bonus tracks to the 11-track album (.38 Special, My Heart Has Never Changed, Terminal Of Tribute To and Heart Of Oak) while the super deluxe box set adds two further bonus tracks.
The box contains the CD, the six-track bonus CD, a 2LP vinyl edition of the album and a DVD containing an exclusive video and interviews. You also get a numbered art print and six photographic prints. According to Virgin/EMI the box is very limited with only 300 copies being produced, so if you’re interested it might be worth getting your order in pronto!
Tracker is released on 16 March 2015.

The British price for the big box is about $30 less than the American right now:
Only 300 copies sounds like it will easily sell out before the release date. I've added a large image of the entire package to the first post (click to open it to full size).

Mark Knopfler’s ‘Tracker’ coming March 16th/17th
Mark Knopfler’s eighth studio album, Tracker, will be released on March 16, 2015 (March 17 in North America). The album features 11 new songs inspired by a wide range of subjects including Beryl Bainbridge and Basil Bunting. The songs contain Mark’s usual wryly but accurately observed vignettes of real life wrapped up in a musical accompaniment of distinctive subtlety.
Tracker will be available on CD, double vinyl, deluxe CD with four bonus tracks, and a lavish box set that will include the album on both CD and vinyl with a bonus CD featuring six extra tracks, a DVD with an exclusive short film directed by Henrik Hansen and an interview with Mark where he talks about the new record. Sleeve notes have been specially written by acclaimed US author Richard Ford and it also contains a numbered art print and six photographic prints.

I sure wish he'd reconvene his Dire Straits group back together its been far too long. He's been sort of hit or miss for me the past decade. He usually has a couple of good rocking tracks but for the most part hie releases are rather sleepy affairs, which aren't a bad thing but they just don't inspire a great deal of repeat listening either. I think a Dire Straits release would be something everyone would enjoy listening to!
